Robin Chalcraft

It was with great sadness that the announcement was made
that our Men’s Captain, Robin Chalcraft, had suddenly passed away on the 21
January 2021 at Rivers Hospital.
This came as a great shock to us all as Robin was making
good progress with his physiotherapy and was expecting to return home soon.
Robin joined our Club in 2007 and soon became an active
member. In 2011 he became Men’s Vice Captain and had been elected Men’s Captain
every year since 2012. More recently he had taken control of the upkeep of the
Green and with the help of his band of volunteers had given us one of the best Bowling
Green’s in the area. He was Honorary Secretary of East Herts Bowling Association
and was also President in 2017.
In 2019 Robin achieved his County badge.
Robin will be sadly missed, he will be remembered for his
Quizzes, no one could match his memory for facts and trivia. His suppers and
Sunday Lunches, cooked to perfection with produce from his own allotment. And
his ability to turn his hand to any jobs that needed fixing. More importantly, Robin encouraged every player, new and old
to get the most enjoyment from their game, whatever their ability, and was a
great ambassador for the sport.
Our Condolences go to Natalie who always supported Robin and
shares many of our Happy Memories.
